Xylem - silver plated pendant and necklace

The Xylem necklace is a dramatic and stunning design that shows the cross section of the xylem vessels in a plant stem.  These bundles of tubes help the plant to take up water but they are hidden from our view and it isn't until they are cut through in a thin cross section and stained with dyes that light up the structures that the true beauty of these cells can be appreciated.   

The pendant is sealed using a deep layer of resin to protect the design.  The resin creates a lens effect over the design magnifying the detail and giving an attractive shine.  

The silver plated pendant base is 38 mm in diameter.

 A 18" sterling silver chain is included.

Packaged in a stunning dragonfly stamped, black gift box.
